How it works: Most questions are answered within the same business day. You will receive an email alert when your question is answered. Login to the Member Area to view the answer, review past responses, or ask another question.

What kind of questions will the Finder Service answer?

Typical Finder questions fall into one of three categories:

1. Regulatory Applicability or Structure
Example: If a loading dock worker assists the truck driver in removing drums of hazardous materials from a vehicle, is the loading dock worker subject to any DOT rules?

2. Basic requirements of a particular rule
Example: I understand that EPA has deferred regulation of mixed waste to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. However, do any EPA reporting or recordkeeping requirements apply to mixed wastes?

3. Locating requirements that impact your site
Example: Where are the requirements for hazardous waste training in the Federal and Texas environmental regulations? or Where can I find a copy of EPA's multi-sector General Permit under the Clean Water Act stormwater permitting program?

What questions will the Finder Service not answer?

The Finder Service is intended to assist you in answering general questions regarding environmental, health and safety, and transportation regulations. The Finder Service is not able to provide detailed regulatory consulting to apply the regulations to your specific operations or materials.

For example, the Finder Service will not classify your facility's materials or wastes. For more in-depth regulatory projects and questions, please see the Hotline service and Lion's suite of consulting solutions.

Can someone else from my organization submit a Finder question?

No. The Finder Service is available only to current Lion Members. To check your Member status, visit the Training Portal now. If your Lion Membership has lapsed, you can renew it by taking any EH&S course.
