Summary:

On March 4 2005, the U.S. EPA completely revised the rules for shipping hazardous waste. They eliminated state-specific manifests and mandated the use of a NEW Federal Uniform Manifest Form, continuation sheet, and instructions.

Effective September 5, 2006, generators, transporters, and TSDF's will need to use the new uniform manifest form. Forms must be obtained by approved authorities. Facility personnel will need training on the new requirements. Computers will need updating if they print or track manifest information.
