Hazardous materials training is required for all “hazmat employees” under the U.S. DOT hazardous materials regulations (49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H). Hazmat training is required within 90-days for new employees; it must be repeated every three years and periodically as rules change. (See Hazmat Training FAQs). Civil penalties are now up to $50,000 per day, per violation.
This certification workshop provides comprehensive DOT training for those responsible for shipping hazardous materials. Using Lion's Ten Steps™ for hazardous materials transportation as your foundation, you will learn a systematic approach for applying the rules to your materials as well as all the new and pending hazmat rules. Expert instructors, engaging lecture, hands-on exercises, plus lively Q&A sessions ensure you know what you must do when you get back to the office.
Registration includes the Hazardous Materials Classification online prep course, two days of comprehensive hands-on training, the Hazardous Materials Transportation Compliance Reference Set, certification, regulatory updates, and 365 days of complete follow-up support.
