Shipping papers are an essential element of a hazmat shipment. They communicate urgent information to handlers, freight forwarders, and emergency responders. It's critical that they are completed as provided in 49 CFR 172, Subpart C. Training is mandatory for employees who complete shipping papers and who can directly affect the safe transport of hazardous materials. Civil penalties for hazmat violations are now up to $50,000 per day, per incident, and $100,000 per day, per incident if the incident results in serious injury, illness, death, or property damage.
This course is designed to ensure compliance with the U.S. DOT's "general and security awareness" and "function-specific" training mandates for those individuals completing shipping papers and manifests. After completing this course, employees will be able to complete and manage paperwork correctly according to the U.S. DOT regulations.
Registration includes an easy-to-download compliance notebook, along with Lion's top-notch reference materials.
