2. Do I have to take this course?

There is no requirement to take or complete the online course. If you choose not to take the online course, you don't need to do anything further. Each course is designed to give you a head start on the content of the public workshop. If you are new to the topic, we encourage you to make use of the online training. Doing so will help you to get more out of the workshop itself.

3. Will I be graded on the online training? What if I do not pass?

The online course includes exercises and a final quiz that are graded. If you choose to complete the full course, including all exercises, you will receive a separate certificate for this training, which you can download and print for yourself. Passing the online training is not necessary for successful completion and certification in the workshop.

4. Will the online training be repeated in the workshop?

In each case, the online training gives more detail on certain introductory material than is provided in the workshop itself. It allows you time to study and understand this introductory material at your own pace. If you are already experienced in the subject matter, you may find this detailed training redundant. If you are not, we expect you will find it valuable.

5. Do I need any special equipment to take the online training?

You need a PC with Internet connection and speakers. A high-speed Internet connection is preferable, but the training can be completed over a modem.

You will need the latest version of flash player to view your training.  Go to www.lion.com/PCTest.asp and click the "Test PC" button.  If an update is required you will be given instructions on how to update your flash player software.

NOTE: If you are using Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista, please verify with your IT department that you have "local administrator" rights.  You will not be able to successfully install any software updates without these rights.
