RCRA Training in Cincinnati: Sept. 23—24

Posted on 5/11/2021 by Roseanne Bottone

Lion Technology’s RCRA Hazardous Waste Management Workshop returns to Cincinnati, OH on September 23—24. Lion instructors are excited to get back in the classroom, connect with new and returning EH&S professionals, and help you simplify RCRA compliance.

When in-person training returns to Cincinnati, Lion will adhere to all Federal, State, and local health and safety protocols intended to prevent COVID-19 transmission. Your safety is of utmost concern to us.

Who Needs RCRA Training?

US EPA requires annual hazardous waste training for “hazardous waste personnel” (40 CFR 262.17). EH&S professionals who identify, store, recycle, ship, or arrange for the disposal of hazardous waste must be trained to comply with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations.

At the upcoming two-day workshop in Cincinnati, you will learn a comprehensive approach to manage your facility’s hazardous waste from “cradle-to-grave.” Develop the knowledge and skills you need to navigate and apply the complex RCRA regulations to your facility’s operations.
"I learned a tremendous amount about hazardous waste management and received excellent instructions and advice."
Andrew H., EH&S Specialist III

What’s New in RCRA?

Did you and your colleagues spend the “quarantine era” reading the Code of Federal Regulations? No? Then let us get you up to speed on the latest 40 CFR hazardous waste management requirements with expert-led initial or refresher RCRA training.

Environmental professionals in the Cincinnati area should know that Ohio adopted two new hazardous waste regulations in 2020. First, Ohio adopted the RCRA Generator Improvements Rule, which re-organized the regulations and created new, more-stringent requirements for container labels, contingency planning, and more. Ohio also adopted cost-saving RCRA reliefs for solvent-contaminated wipes.

Join us at the Cincinnati RCRA workshop to update your expertise and ensure your site remains in compliance with changing hazardous waste management standards.

"Honestly, this was the best workshop I've ever attended."

The Importance of RCRA Training

We take regulatory compliance seriously. Lion’s RCRA workshops are presented as a combination of lecture, discussion, and practical retention-boosting exercises that will prepare you to make confident, informed compliance decisions when you return to work.

Improper hazardous waste management puts the health and safety of employees at risk and threatens the environment. Waste that’s improperly managed, stored, or disposed of can also lead to costly civil penalties from US EPA and future liability under programs like CERCLA.

In December 2020, the EPA increased RCRA penalties to $76,764 per day, per violation.
