Managing Hazard Communication

Course Code: OSH 336

Description

June 1, 2016: The deadline to update your workplace hazard communication system in line with OSHA's revised GHS requirements.

Any employer whose employees handle or are exposed to hazardous chemicals must have a written hazard communication ("HazCom") plan. Failure to develop or maintain a HazCom plan is consistently citied as the #1 violation of OSHA's General Industry Standards. OSHA's adoption of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) into the HazCom rules is having a major effect on facilities that import, use, store, and ship hazardous chemicals.

This online course breaks down OSHA's hazard communication standard at 29 CFR 1910.1200 and explains what is required in an employer's HazCom program. During training, students will learn the latest OSHA HazCom rules, including new GHS requirements for chemical classification, labeling, and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs). Registration includes a downloadable notebook of slides, and upon successful completion of the course, students receive a Certificate of Achievement.
