1. How long will my membership last?

In general, membership lasts for one year. The one-year period begins at the date of purchase of a membership, the date of purchase of a qualifying online program, or the last day of a public workshop. To stay current on regulatory changes, an additional year or two of membership may be purchased online.

2. How will I know when my membership expires?

Your membership expiration date is always visible in the Member Lounge: http://www.lion.com/member.

3. How do I access membership features?

All membership features are available from one convenient location: the Member Lounge. You must log in to access member-only areas of the web site. To log in, go to http://www.lion.com/member and enter your user name and password.

4. What is included in my membership?

  • Access to extensive online resource libraries on environmental, health and safety, and transportation topics
  • Discounts on Lion's nationally-recognized publications, select online courses and web seminars, and membership renewal
  • Downloadable updates to Lion's user-friendly hazardous materials transportation or hazardous waste management regulations

5. Is membership transferrable?

No. Lion Membership is an individual personal license for access to Lion Technology Inc Membership features. These privileges are limited to the specific person holding the membership.

6. How do I access LionCasts?

From the Member Lounge, simply click the "LionCasts" button in the Member Lounge. You will also find a link in the navigation window on the left of the web site under "Members."

7. What discounts do members receive?

Members receive discounts for all Lion books and regulations purchased from our online bookstore as well as special pricing for our online training programs. You must be logged in to the web site as a member in order to activate the member pricing discounts.

8. How do I know if I am logged in?

If you are logged in to the Lion web site as a member, you will see a welcome greeting on the top of every page. If you do not see this message, go to the login page from the navigation bar and enter your user name and password in the Member Login fields.

9. How do I submit a question to the Finder Service?

You will find a question submission field in the Member Lounge. Simply complete the fields with your name, e-mail address, and question, and then hit the "Submit" button. Average response time is two business days.

10. What kind of questions may I ask the Finder Service?

Typically, Finder questions fall into one of three categories:

Applicability/Structure - Example: "If a loading dock person assists the truck driver in removing drums of hazardous materials, is the loading dock worker subject to any DOT rules?"

Basic requirements of a particular rule - Example: "I understand that EPA has deferred regulation of mixed waste to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. However, are there any EPA reporting or recordkeeping requirements for the mixed waste?"

Finding information - Examples: "Where are the requirements for hazardous waste training in the Federal and Texas regulations?" or "Where can I find a copy of EPA's Multi-Sector General Permit under the Clean Water Act stormwater permitting program?"

11. Are there questions I cannot submit to the Finder Service?

The Finder Service is intended to assist you in answering general questions regarding environmental, health and safety, and transportation regulations. The Finder Service is not able to provide detailed regulatory consulting in applying the regulations to your specific operations and materials.

If you do have need for specific consultation, Lion does pay-for-service contract services. For more information, please refer to our Hotline Service or contact sales@lion.com to discuss your specific consulting needs.

12. Can someone else from my organization submit a Finder question?

No. The Finder Service is only available to individuals with a valid membership.

13. How do I renew my membership?

If you need to renew your membership, you can renew online or call 888-546-6511. To receive the reduced renewal rate, please renew prior to your membership expiration date found on the top of the Member Lounge page. See below for renewal and new membership rates.

14. Can I purchase membership for my staff?

Yes. Membership may be purchased for up to five individuals. To sign up, call 888-546-6511.

One-year membership renewal    $199*

One-year group membership (Up to 5 users)    $1,499

15. How do I activate my membership?

Go to www.lion.com/activate. At the top of the page, enter your student PIN (found on your course completion certificate) OR the e-mail address you provided to Lion when you signed up for your training. After you submit your PIN or e-mail address, we will e-mail your login information.

If you cannot locate your student PIN, fill out your information in the form on the bottom of the page and we will e-mail your login information.
