Hackers Attack Industrial Safety Systems with New Malware
Arecent attack on an industrial facility safety system could be of concern to our readers. Industrial security company FireEye reported on December 14 that an attacker had deployed malware dubbed “Triton” or “Trisis” to disrupt safety instrumented systems (SIS) at a Middle East critical infrastructure facility.12/11/2017

For allegedly shipping 24-volt lithium-ion batteries that did not conform to UN test standards or US Hazardous Materials Regulations requirements, a Florida lithium battery manufacturer now faces a $1,100,000 fine from US FAA.12/4/2017

OSHA Gives Employers 2 More Weeks to Submit Injury and Illness Data
OSHA this month announced an additional two week extension for employers who must electronically submit injury and illness data under the new “Improved Tracking of Workplace Injuries and Illnesses” rule finalized in May 2016.11/22/2017
