New e-Manifest Training Kicks Off May 15

Posted on 2/20/2018 by Roger Marks

To help hazardous waste professionals transition to EPA’s new electronic system for tracking hazardous waste shipments, Lion Technology will present the EPA’s New Electronic Manifest System Webinar starting in May 2018.

In just 60 minutes, this live, expert-led webinar will prepare environmental compliance professionals to make optimal decisions about how to use the new system. The webinar will clearly lay out the responsibilities of generators, transporters, and TSDFs under the eleWorking_On_Computer_2.jpgctronic Manifest system, including who will pay the fees that keep the system maintained.

EPA will launch the long-promised Electronic Hazardous Waste Manifest (e-Manifest) system in June 2018. Generators now have decisions to make about whether to continuing using paper manifests, or to switch to the new electronic format. Both have pros and cons, and understanding the potential costs and benefits is crucial to make the right choice for your site moving forward.

One thing is for sure—EPA will be storing all Manifests electronically. This means that even if you choose to stick with paper manifests, you could still see your responsibilities change because of the new standards.

Find out how the e-manifest system will impact your other RCRA recordkeeping and reporting responsibilities—Land Disposal Restrictions, state hazardous waste reporting, PCBs under TSCA, 49 CFR DOT hazmat shipping rules, and more.

Lion will present the first session of the EPA’s New Electronic Manifest System Webinar on May 15.
