e-Manifest Reports Must Be Submitted Online as of 12/1

As of December 1, 2025, electronic submission of certain hazardous waste Manifest-related reports, and export manifests, is now mandatory.

EPA: 5-Copy Hazardous Waste Manifest Form OK to Use Until Further Notice

In updated guidance posted on September 10, 2025, EPA states that the agency will continue to accept the 5-copy hazardous waste manifest form “until further notice.”

E-Manifests and 49 CFR: Paper Copies Still Required

One of the benefits of the e-manifest system is that we no longer need physical hard copies of manifests to accompany hazardous waste shipments. But just because EPA is fine with no paper copy, the same is not true for the Department of Transportation (DOT).

EPA Suspends Support Services Amid Shutdown

Starting tonight at 12:00 midnight, US EPA will suspend its support for the new electronic Manifest (e-Manifest) system and the RCRAinfo portal used by hazardous waste generators, transporters, and treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs) due to the Federal government shutdown.

E-Manifests Go Live on June 30—Are You Ready?

If you're not up to speed on electronic hazardous waste manifests, the time to learn is now: EPA will officially unveil the e-manifest system on June 30, 2018. That leaves just 25 days (18 business days!) to prepare for the new system and how it will impact your facility.
