Contaminated Site
Occasional Site Worker

Job tasks performed by occasional site workers may include groundwater
monitoring, land surveying, painting, and others. Because they are on site less often than general site workers, occasional site workers require fewer hours of training.

Initial Training

For a new employee, OSHA requires 24 hours of initial training*.

Recommended course:

24 Hour Initial

29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3)(ii)

Refresher Training

For employees trained to this level, OSHA requires annual refresher training.

Recommended course:

8 Hour Refresher

29 CFR 1910.120(e)(8)

* OSHA also requires occasional site workers to complete a minimum one (1) day of supervised field experience before performing any work that could expose them to hazardous substances.
