Major updates to US EPA’s Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) hazardous waste management regulations took effect on May 30, 2017 under EPA's “Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements” rulemaking. States authorized to oversee their own hazardous waste programs must adopt any more-stringent elements of the updated RCRA rules within one or two years.
