New Effluent Limitations for Coal-fired Steam Electric Power Plants
On September 30, 2015, US EPA finalized a new Rule aimed at reducing the volume of toxic metals and other pollutants that enter US waterways. The rule, called the Effluent Limitations Guidelines and Standards for the Steam Electric Power Generating Point Source Category, was initially proposed in June 2013.9/29/2015
EPA Revises Farm Worker Protection Standards
On September 28, 2015, US EPA announced revised worker protection standards for farm workers exposed to pesticides on the job. The new standards will apply to agricultural workers who perform certain labor tasks in pesticide-treated crops and pesticide handlers who mix, load, and apply pesticides. EPA Reports Progress on Hazardous Waste E-Manifests
On October 5, 2012, President Obama signed the Hazardous Waste Electronic Manifest Establishment Act into law.
