TCLP or WET Method? Determining Hazardous Waste Toxicity
When hazardous waste is disposed of in a landfill, a small amount of the toxic constituents in the waste may “leach out” into the soil and groundwater. To mitigate the risks posed by chemicals seeping out of buried waste, US EPA requires generators to prove that the volume of hazardous substances that will “leach out” into the environmental is below thresholds set by US EPA.

RCRA Generator Improvements Rule Remains on Track
EPA’s major overhaul of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) is set to take effect in May 2017. Originally published in November 2016, this Final Rule is not impacted by the recent freeze on new EPA regulations and will take effect as scheduled.

President Issues Executive Order to Slash Regulations
An Executive Order issued by the Office of the President on January 30, 2017 calls for a reduction in the number of Federal regulations impacting US businesses. Regulatory Freeze Puts EPA and DOT Rules on Ice Until March 21
In response to an Executive Memorandum issued on January 20 that ordered the heads of Federal agencies to delay the effective date of any new regulations for 60 days, US EPA today published a list of regulations subject to the “regulatory freeze.
