Final Rule Alert: Hazmat Civil Penalties Increased

Effective July 31, 2019, US DOT has increased civil penalties for Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) violations. With hazmat civil penalties assessed on a per day, per violation basis, even minor increases to these penalty amounts can add up quickly.

EPA Announces $11.5 Million Cleanup Plan for Byram, NJ Dump Site

EPA officials have announced an $11.5 million proposal to address hazardous waste contamination at the Mansfield Trail Dump Superfund Site in Byram, NJ. These cleanup initiatives include a cap on former dump areas, treatment of contaminated groundwater, and removal of contaminated soil with assistance from local officials.
