Scope Documents for First 10 TSCA Chemical Risk Evaluations Now Available
US EPA has announced the availability of documents that lay out the scope of the risk evaluations EPA will perform on the first 10 chemicals identified for evaluation under TSCA, as revised by the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act (“The Lautenberg Law”).7/7/2017
PHMSA Pre-empts FDNY Hazmat Permit Fee
In the Federal Register yesterday, the US DOT Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) announced that the Federal Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) in some cases pre-empt hazmat inspection and permit rules created by the New York City Fire Department.6/30/2017
FAA Fines Oklahoma Shipper $63K for Hazmat Violations
US FAA this week issued a press release to announce hazmat enforcement action against an Oklahoma shipper who allegedly offered a corrosive liquid product for air transport. When the shipment was discovered to be leaking at a UPS sorting facility in Austin, TX, workers reported the incident to FAA.6/29/2017
OSHA Proposes Delay to New Injury and Illness E-Reporting Rule
As hinted at last month on OSHA’s website, the Agency this week proposed extending the deadline for employers to electronically submit injury and illness data recorded on OSHA Form 300A for the year 2016.
