NTSB has identified a preliminary cause for the derailment involving eleven rail cars loaded with hazardous materials, including vinyl chloride.

Hazmat Rail Cars Carrying Vinyl Chloride Derail in Ohio

Update: On Monday, February 6, emergency responders conducted controlled venting and incineration of vinyl chloride from five of the derailed cars to prevent a potentially devastating explosion.
