Shippers or carriers must register with DOT by June 30 annually if they offer/transport any load that requires a placard.

PHMSA Proposes Increasing Hazmat Registration Fees to Maximum

PHMSA proposed to increase the registration fees for shippers and carriers who offer and/or transport certain categories and quantities of hazardous materials.

Hazmat Registration Ends June 30, Fees May Increase

US DOT PHMSA may need to increase the Registration fee amounts paid by shippers and carriers of certain types and quantities of hazardous materials in order to fund hazmat emergency preparedness and training grants.

DOT Seeks Stakeholder Input on Hazmat Registration for Shippers and Carriers

To fund PHMSA’s national emergency preparedness grant program to levels required by law, the Agency may need to increase hazmat registration fees or expand the criteria for who must register.
