COVID-19 Training for Employee Safety Awareness

Posted on 8/12/2020 by Lion Staff

As US businesses prepare to re-open, protecting employees from exposure to COVID-19 is of paramount concern to employers.

Under the OSH Act General Duty Clause, employers are legally required to provide workers with “a place of employment…free from all recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees” (OSH Act §5(a)).

Without a doubt, this includes protecting workers from exposure to illnesses like COVID-19.

To ensure employees have reliable, clear information to protect themselves and co-workers from this respiratory disease, Lion launched the COVID-19 Employee Safety Awareness online course this week.

New Course: COVID-19 Employee Safety Awareness

The new COVID-19 Employee Safety Awareness online course will help satisfy state-level employee information and COVID-19 training requirements.

Employees who complete this course will be ready to:
  • Recognize signs, symptoms, and risk factors of COVID-19
  • Describe how the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) virus is transmitted
  • Use general hygiene and work practices that limit COVID-19 exposure
  • Use and care for personal protective equipment (PPE) when required
The course run time is one hour and employees can complete it 100% online, at their own pace. Each employee who completes this course receives a Certificate employers can use as part of employee training records to help satisfy OSH Act responsibilities and state-level COVID-19 training mandates.
