IATA Posts Addendum I to 2021 IATA DGR

IATA posted the first Addendum to the 62nd Edition Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) on January 1. Compliance with the 62nd Ed. IATA DGR is mandatory as of January 1, 2021.

Changes to the DGR shipping requirements in this Addendum include:
  • An added exception for hand sanitizer in Section 2.5 "Dangerous Goods in Operator's Property." 
  • An added exception for COVID-19 vaccines containing GMOs or GMMOs in Section 3.9.2.5.
The first Addendum also updates various state and operator variations, including the addition of a new variation for Federal Express, FX-10, which reads: 

FX-10 Shipments containing accessible dangerous goods (ADG) and inaccessible dangerous goods (IDG) that are dropped off at staffed FedEx U.S. locations must be processed using a FedEx or third-party automation system, not paper airbills or air waybills.
