Late last year, the world lost a man who is thought of as “the father of modern hazmat thinking.” Ludwig Benner Jr. worked for decades to improve training and procedures for hazardous materials first responders. The advances he spearheaded, without a doubt, saved countless lives.
To celebrate Benner’s legacy, we’ve prepared a short quiz about his life and accomplishments.
We present this quiz with special thanks to author and hazardous materials specialist Robert Burke, who wrote a moving tribute to Benner earlier this year for Firehouse. His article served as inspiration and a main source of information for this piece.
The instructor was great, explaining complex topics in terms that were easily understandable and answering questions clearly and thoroughly.
