December Hazmat Training in Chicago, St. Louis, & more!

Posted on 11/29/2016 by Roger Marks

To help shippers protect personnel and maintain full compliance with the latest hazmat transportation regulations, Lion will present the Complete Multimodal Hazmat Shipper Certification Workshops in Midwest US cities starting next week. US DOT requires all hazmat employees to complete training within 90 days of hire, and repeat hazmat training once every 3 years.

See the schedule for complete DOT (ground), IATA (air), and IMDG (ocean) hazmat shipper training here.

With 2017 only weeks away, shippers face changing 49 CFR hazmat regulations—including major updates finalized by PHMSA this year. Hazmat shipping mistakes are now more costly than ever: PHMSA raised its penalties for hazmat shipping violations this year from $75,000 per day, per violation to $77,114 per day, per violation.

DOT hazmat training

Failure to provide hazmat training for employee is now punishable by a $463 fine per employee, per day.

Led by an expert, full-time Lion instructor, the two-day 49 CFR (DOT ground) hazmat shipper workshop, DOT Hazmat Ground Shipper Certification comes to the Midwest on the following dates:

Cleveland December 1-2
Pittsburgh December 5-6
St. Louis December 7-8
Chicago December 12-14

Learn the latest unique IMDG Code rules for hazmat ocean shipments—including container stowage and segregation requirements, rules for marine pollutants, and more. A one-day workshop on the unique IMDG Code rules for dangerous goods ocean shippers comes to Pittsburgh on December 8 and Chicago on December 15.
