EPA Will Keep Restrictions PFOA, PFOS in Drinking Water and Eliminate Other PFAS Limits

Update: EPA has announced that limits for PFOA and PFOS in drinking water will remain in place, while maximum contaminant levels for three other per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) will be rescinded for reconsideration.

Proposed: First Federal Limits on PFAS in Drinking Water

US EPA proposed establishing enforceable drinking water standards for six per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) today, March 29, 2023. Stakeholders and the public can submit comments until May 30, 2023.

EPA Issues New List of Water Contaminants

The fifth Contaminant Candidate List or CCL 5 includes 66 individual chemicals, 12 microbes, and chemical groups–including PFAS.
