2.5M Pounds of Radioactive Fracking Waste Illegally Dumped at Oregon Landfill
A hazardous waste facility near Arlington, Oregon has been put on notice for allegedly dumping over 2.5 million pounds of radioactive fracking waste at its landfill, according to the Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE). Oregon law prohibits disposal of radioactive waste in the state.

Elevated Benzene Levels Reported at 10 US Refineries
A nonprofit watchdog group released a report that shows elevated benzene levels at 10 oil refineries throughout the US. While this is not illegal, EPA regulations require the refineries to investigate the cause of elevated emissions and take steps to reduce them.

Final Rule Alert: PHMSA Removes ECP Brakes Requirement for HHFTs
The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) published a Final Rule in the Federal Register on Tuesday, September 25 to remove requirements for electronically controlled pneumatic brake systems (ECP brake systems) on “high hazard flammable trains” of HHFTs.
