US EPA released the results of its chemical risk evaluations for Perchloroethylene (PCE) on December 14.

EPA released its interim final list of businesses subject to fees for the 20 high-priority substances undergoing TSCA risk evaluations. Companies that use chemical(s) undergoing a risk evaluation must report if they manufacture or import those chemicals and will then be subject to a portion of the TSCA fee.

US EPA recently completed its risk evaluation for 1-bromopropane (1-BP) required under the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act or LCSA, which amended TSCA.

On March 30, EPA published its TSCA Draft Risk Evaluation for asbestos, one of the first 10 priority chemicals scheduled for review. EPA reviewed data on potential asbestos exposures and made several initial determinations on risk relating to the environment and occupational health.

EPA has released TSCA draft risk evaluations for trichloroethylene and carbon tetrachloride. These two substances are numbers seven and eight on EPA’s list of the first ten chemicals scheduled for risk review, respectively.
