This course provides OSHA respiratory protection training required annually. Employees who complete this course will understand the importance of respiratory protection and be able to select, use, and maintain the proper respiratory protection for their workplace.

Also available in Spanish

Employees who work in environments with insufficient oxygen, or where harmful dusts, fogs, smokes, mists, fumes, gases, vapors, or sprays are present need respirators. Since different hazards require specific respirators, effective training on how to select and use the proper respirator, is critical for employee safety.

Respiratory protection consistently ranks as one of the 10 most-frequently violated OSHA Standards.

Registration Includes:

  • Engaging, interactive OSHA safety training.
  • Workbooks and 29 CFR regulatory excerpts for reference
  • Tutorials for further reading on OSHA safety Standards
  • Three months of Lion Membership for complete compliance support.
  • Certificate to document employee's completed respiratory protection training.

Respiratory Protection Training Covers:

  • Need for respiratory protection
  • Selecting the appropriate respirator
  • Using Air-purifying respirators (APRs)
  • Using Atmosphere-supplying respirators (ASRs)
  • Respirator use in IDLH vs. Non-IDLH atmospheres
  • Required elements of a written respiratory program
  • Qualitative vs. quantitative fit testing protocols
  • Respirator maintenance
  • Required elements of respirator training
Respiratory protection is critical to protect employees from hazards like increased breathing rates, accelerated heartbeat, impaired thinking, and loss of coordination. Even a momentary loss of coordination can be fatal if it occurs while a worker is performing a potentially dangerous activity.
