Description
This online course provides the 40 hours of initial HAZWOPER training required for general site workers, (e.g., equipment operators, general laborers, and supervisors) who work at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites and perform waste removal or other activities that may expose them to hazardous substances and health hazards.

OSHA requires 40 Hour HAZWOPER training for general site workers at 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3)(i).

Who should complete 40 Hour HAZWOPER training?

General site workers such as equipment operators, general laborers, and supervisors at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites, i.e., Superfund sites, RCRA corrective action sites, voluntary cleanup sites, or other sites officially designated for cleanup by Federal, State, or local authorities.
For occasional site workers at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites, OSHA requires just 24 hours of initial HAZWOPER training.

Additional HAZWOPER training required

General site workers must complete 40 hours of initial HAZWOPER training and complete a minimum of three days of actual field experience under direct supervision of a trained, experienced supervisor. This course is designed to meet the 40-hour training requirement only. The course does not include hands-on training on equipment that employees may need to begin work at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites.
