On April 1, the American Trucking Association (ATA) filed a petition with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to repeal obsolete and overly burdensome regulations.
This petition was filed in response to the President’s Executive Order 13563 “Improving Regulation and Regulatory Review”, where in the President called on all rulemaking goverment agencies to review thier existing regulations and repeal or amend any rules that no longer served a useful purpose.
To carry out EO 13563, the DOT called for assistance from regulated entities to identify obsolete or overly burdensome regulations.
