Who Needs DOT Hazmat Training?Under US DOT’s Hazardous Materials Regulations, all “hazmat employees” must complete training within 90 days of hire or assignment and must complete re-training once every 3 years (49 CFR 172.704).
If you ship hazardous materials by air or vessel, you and your shipping team must also complete function-specific training on the unique international requirements for those modes of transport (i.e., the IATA DGR and IMDG Code).
