Effective immediately, the US Postal Service revised the standards for mailing hazmat/DG to require "rigid outer packaging" of a minimum strength for most materials, and updated the mailing standards for lithium batteries.

US EPA increased the maximum penalty amounts for violating Federal environmental regulations, including a maximum fine of $93,058 per day, per violation for noncompliance with RCRA hazardous waste standards.
