New at Lion.com—RCRA & DOT Hazmat Training for Personnel

Posted on 10/20/2017 by Roger Marks

To help managers ensure personnel are fully trained in US DOT hazmat and RCRA hazardous waste regulations that impact their jobs, Lion Technology launched two new online courses this month.

Storing & Shipping Hazardous Waste—Ops (Course Code RCRA 231)

The online course covers critical RCRA compliance topics for personnel, and includes hazmat general awareness, hazmat security awareness, and function-specific training on preparing hazardous waste shipments for transport in compliance with the 49 CFR Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR).

This course is designed to satisfy both US EPA’s initial or annual RCRA training standard (now found at 40 CFR 262.17(a)) and US DOT’s initial or 3-year hazmat training standard at 49 CFR 172.704.

US EPA requires hazardous waste personnel to complete annual training on the RCRA hazardous waste requirements. This online course is designed to provide initial or refresher training for waste handlers, operators, maintenance workers, production personnel, lab employees, and others at large or small quantity generator facilities.

Simplifying the Lion.com RCRA Training Catalog

To make finding the right training for personnel easier, these two new online courses will replace four existing courses in the Lion.com online training catalog.

If you completed any of the following online courses at Lion.com, you can now choose one of the new courses to meet your DOT hazmat or RCRA hazardous waste training mandates.

Storing and Shipping Hazardous Waste: Large Quantity Generators (RCRA 225)
Storing and Shipping Hazardous Waste: Small Quantity Generators (RCRA 215)
Storing Hazardous Waste: Large Quantity Generators (RCRA 220)
Storing Hazardous Wastes: Small Quantity Generators (RCRA 210)
