A word of caution to hazmat air shippers, air carriers, and travel agents: Lion Technology has been made aware that scammers posing as representatives of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) are attempting to use the IATA name and letterhead to extort payments from businesses and individuals.7/18/2017

US EPA has announced the availability of documents that lay out the scope of the risk evaluations EPA will perform on the first 10 chemicals identified for evaluation under TSCA, as revised by the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act (“The Lautenberg Law”).7/7/2017
PHMSA Pre-empts FDNY Hazmat Permit Fee
In the Federal Register yesterday, the US DOT Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) announced that the Federal Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) in some cases pre-empt hazmat inspection and permit rules created by the New York City Fire Department.
