OSHA Rescinds Electronic Reporting Requirement for Form 300 and 301 Injury Data
OSHA has finalized a rulemaking to rescind the requirement for employers with 250 or more employees to electronically report injury and illness data from OSHA Forms 300 and 301. Electronic submission of data from OSHA Form 300A will still be required.

DOT Hazmat Inspections Continue Under Shutdown
Hazmat safety inspections are continuing through the current partial government shutdown. Despite a lapse in funding, both PHMSA and FAA staff remain on the job to inspect shipping facilities, carriers, cylinder re-conditioners, and packaging testers as the shutdown stretches on.

New Finding for Mercury Air Toxics Proposed by EPA
US EPA closed out 2018 with a proposal to revise its Supplemental Cost Finding for the 2012 Mercury Air Toxics Standards (MATS) Final Rule. In it, the Agency states that it is not “appropriate and necessary” to regulate hazardous air pollutant (HAP) emissions from coal- or oil-fired electricity generating units (EGUs).
