What's New in the IMDG Code for 2019?
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) this fall will publish a new edition of its International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code), the manual used by hazmat vessel shippers to ensure compliance with US and international hazardous materials/dangerous goods transport requirements.

New DG Regulations in Effect as of Jan. 1
A quick reminder as we start the new year: If you package dangerous goods for air or vessel transport, be sure you have the latest editions of the IATA DGR and the IMDG Code at the ready. New editions of both the air shipping and vessel shipping manuals took effect on January 1.

PHMSA Guidance on Use of International Hazmat Shipping Standards
In the notice issued today, February 27, PHMSA states that hazmat inspectors will not take enforcement action against any offeror or carrier who are properly using the 2017-18 versions of the IMDG Code or ICAO Technical Instructions (TI) when all or part of the transportation is by air or vessel.
