Oregon OSHA Proposes Heat Illness Prevention Rule

To better protect workers in the state from climate-related hazards, Oregon OSHA proposed requirements for employers concerning heat illness prevention. The announcement comes shortly after US OSHA announced its own plans to create a Federal standard for occupational heat exposure safety.

Two affiliated hardware stores in Oregon were fined a combined $35,600 for failing to adequately protect workers from exposure to COVID-19, according to the State Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Oregon OSHA).

2.5M Pounds of Radioactive Fracking Waste Illegally Dumped at Oregon Landfill

A hazardous waste facility near Arlington, Oregon has been put on notice for allegedly dumping over 2.5 million pounds of radioactive fracking waste at its landfill, according to the Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE). Oregon law prohibits disposal of radioactive waste in the state.
