This online course provides the additional 16 hours of HAZWOPER training required for occasional site workers who are "upgraded" to general site workers or who are required to wear respirators at an uncontrolled hazardous waste site (i.e., a cleanup site).

Additional HAZWOPER training required
General site workers must complete 40 hours of initial HAZWOPER training and complete a minimum of three days of actual field experience under direct supervision of a trained, experienced supervisor.
This course is designed to help satisfy the 40-hour training requirement only and does not include hands-on training on equipment or PPE that personnel may need to begin work at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites.
To "upgrade" from 24 hour to 40 hour HAZWOPER training, the employee must have already completed 24 hours of training required for "occassional site workers" per 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(ii).
