This course provides required DOT hazmat employee training (general awareness, security awareness, and function-specific training) for drivers of motor vehicles that carry hazardous materials in bulk and non-bulk packagings.

This training is not intended to prepare drivers for the CDL exam nor satisfy FMCSA's Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Rule. Learn more.

Course Details
US DOT requires training for all hazmat employees, including drivers, within 90 days of hire date or job assignment. Recurrent hazmat training is required at least every three years (49 CFR 172.704).

Hazmat drivers commonly perform regulated job functions like accepting hazmat shipments and loading or unloading vehicles (in addition to operating the motor vehicle).
