EPA Extends Reporting Period for 2012 CDR

Posted on 6/19/2012 by James Griffin

Update 11/25/20: TSCA CDR reporting requirements for 2020.

**
On June 11, 2012 Mr. Jim Jones, EPA Acting Assistant Administrator for the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention signed a rule to extend the Chemical Data Rule (CDR) reporting period by six weeks. The submission deadline for the report is moved to August 13, 2012, from the original due date of June 30, 2012.

The purpose of CDR, formerly known as Inventory Update Reporting (IUR), is to collect quality screening-level, exposure-related information on chemical substances and to make that information available for use by EPA and, to the extent possible, to the public. The IUR/CDR data are used to support risk screening, assessment, priority setting, and management activities, and constitute the most comprehensive source of basic screening-level, exposure-related information on chemicals available to EPA.

In the EPA’s notice, the Agency stated its continued support to companies through a range of resources including:

  • TSCA Hotline at 202-554-1404
  • ecdrweb@epa.gov
  • CDX Help Desk at 1-888-890-1995
