EPA Proposes New TSCA SNURs for 8 Chemical Substances

Posted on 6/17/2019 by Roger Marks

On June 11, US EPA proposed Significant New Use Rules or SNURs for eight chemical substances under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).

A Significant New Use Rule requires chemical industry facilities to notify EPA 90 days prior to commencing any manufacture, processing, or import designated as a “new use” by the rule. SNURs also restrict how and where these chemical substances may be manufactured, processed, imported, and/or used.
