Extension of GHG Reporting Deadline

Posted on 3/8/2011 by James Griffin

In a press release issued on March 1, 2011, the EPA announced their intent to extend the data submission deadline for the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program. The original deadline for reporting on 2010 emissions was March 31, 2011.

Thousands of companies have already registered to submit their 2010 data through the e*GGRT online reporting tool. The EPA is still in the process of testing the e*GGRT system which regulated entities will use to upload their emissions data. Extending the March 31 deadline allows the EPA to complete their own internal testing of the e*GGRT system, as well as allow facilities more time to test the system, ask questions about the tool and become familiar with e*GRRT prior to actually submitting data.

The EPA has stated that in the coming weeks they will announce the new reporting deadline; the new deadline will be finalized and announced before the original deadline of March 31, 2011.
