California’s Hazardous Materials Business Plan Changes in Effect as of January 1

Effective as of January 1, 2023, California amended its Hazardous Materials Business Plan (HMBP) program to more strictly limit the use of exemptions for "retail establishments" and "consumer products," among other changes.

Required under EPCRA, Tier I or Tier II chemical inventory reporting is due on March 1 from facilities that had more than the threshold quantity of any covered hazardous chemical on site at any time during 2022.
