The US Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB) opened an investigation into a release of nitric acid and nitrogen oxide gas that occurred at an explosives manufacturing plant in Ohio.

The manufacturer has received 19 reports of fires and explosions, including two reports of minor burn injuries and 11 reports of property damage totaling over $60,700.

EPA moved the deadline for chemical manufacturers to report unpublished health and safety data about 16 chemicals, including vinyl chloride, until May 22, 2026.

The US Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB) issued its final report following an investigation of an incident that occurred May 30, 2024, at a metal treatment facility in Tennessee.

Shippers or carriers must register with DOT by June 30 annually if they offer/transport any load that requires a placard.

Until August 4, PHMSA will accept public comments about requirements in the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) that pose unjustified burdens on the production and transportation of domestic energy products in the US.
