Forklift Safety

Course Code: OSH 235

This course provides safety training required by OSHA for employees who operate powered industrial trucks (PITs) or forklifts. Employees develop awareness of OSHA rules and guidelines for the safe operation of forklifts. The course includes a performance checklist that can be used to road-test forklift operators/drivers.

No employee may operate a forklift until training is complete. Powered industrial trucks or forklifts consistently rank as one of the 10 most-frequently violated OSHA Standards.

Registration Includes:

  • Engaging, interactive OSHA safety training.
  • Workbooks and 29 CFR regulatory excerpts for reference
  • Tutorials for further reading on OSHA safety Standards
  • Three months of Lion Membership for complete compliance support.
  • Certificate to document employee's completed forklift safety training.

Because forklifts pose significant dangers, no employee may operate one without training. Retraining is required if an employee has operated a forklift unsafely, has been in an accident or near-accident, has received a poor evaluation, or has been assigned to a new type of forklift.
