IATA Posts Addendum I to 2021 IATA DGR

IATA posted the first Addendum to the 62^nd Edition Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) on January 1. Compliance with the 62^nd Ed. IATA DGR is mandatory as of January 1, 2021.

Changes to the DGR shipping requirements in this Addendum include:

An added exception for hand sanitizer in Section 2.5 "Dangerous Goods in Operator's Property."
An added exception for COVID-19 vaccines containing GMOs or GMMOs in Section 3.9.2.5.

The first Addendum also updates various state and operator variations, including the addition of a new variation for Federal Express, FX-10, which reads:

FX-10 Shipments containing accessible dangerous goods (ADG) and inaccessible dangerous goods (IDG) that are dropped off at staffed FedEx U.S. locations must be processed using a FedEx or third-party automation system, not paper airbills or air waybills.
