OSHA Releases Employer Guidance in Advance of Safe + Sound Week

Safe + Sound Week takes place from August 13–19 this year.

The event is a combined effort of OSHA professional, safety organizations, and industry groups.

In-person and digital safety events will be held nationwide to promote safe work practices and OSHA compliance. OSHA invites organizations of any size, in any industry, to participate by hosting public events for workers or the public. In preparation for Safe + Sound Week, participating safety organizations released white papers to guide safety managers on creating and maintaining a thriving safety program to protect workers: 

Free OSHA Webinar – 3 Core Elements of Effective Safety and Health Programs

OSHA has also made available a free webinar presented as part of the Safe + Sound campaign. The webinar is titled Three Core Elements of Effective Safety and Health Programs and runs about 90 minutes. The webinar is available on YouTube here.


Partners for this year’s Safe + Sound week include the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the National Safety Council (NSC).

Also partnering in the effort are industry groups like the American Chemistry Council, the American Petroleum Institute, Association of Equipment Manufacturers, American Iron and Steel Institute, and many, many more.
