3/29/2019The Environmental Protection Agency promulgated a Final Rule on March 27, 2019 to prohibit the manufacture (including import), processing, and distribution in commerce of methylene chloride for consumer paint and coating removal, including distribution to and by retailers.
3/26/2019The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) mandates a “cradle-to-grave” management system for hazardous waste. The “grave” is more commonly known as a TSDF (Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility)—your hazardous waste’s final resting place.
3/26/2019US EPA has kicked off its prioritization process for performing risk evaluations of forty chemical substances, as required under the amended Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). In the Federal Register on March 21, EPA posed a Notice to inform stakeholders of the chemicals up for possible review.
3/22/2019As energy storage technology improves, so will the ferocity with which lithium batteries can potentially ignite or “explode.” For safety professionals, this means that training on safe lithium battery handling procedures may be a smart addition to any workplace safety program—and may even be required under OSHA’s General Duty Clause.
