US Industry Cuts Methane Emissions by 7,000,000 Tons

US companies reduced their methane emissions by an equivalent of 7,000,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) between 2016 and 2019, according to data released by US EPA.

NJDEP Urges EPA to List Lower Hackensack River as Superfund Site

On July 23, NJDEP wrote a letter to EPA in an effort to resume plans to list Lower Hackensack River as a Federal Superfund site. The 23-mile section would be the first NJ river to receive the designation under CERCLA.

PFAS Bill Passes Major Milestone in US Congress

On July 21, the US House of Representatives passed H.R.2467 PFAS Action Act of 2021. The bill establishes requirements and incentives to limit the use of PFAS and remediate the toxic chemicals already present in the environment.
