Plus, a pair of municipal power companies must resolve Clean Air Act violations by updating their Electric Generating Units.

EPA Announces $11.5 Million Cleanup Plan for Byram, NJ Dump Site

EPA officials have announced an $11.5 million proposal to address hazardous waste contamination at the Mansfield Trail Dump Superfund Site in Byram, NJ. These cleanup initiatives include a cap on former dump areas, treatment of contaminated groundwater, and removal of contaminated soil with assistance from local officials.

Recently, US EPA clarified its stance on whether the Clean Water Act’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program covers point-source discharges to groundwater.
