NMFTA Updates Bill of Lading Standards
New standards for Bills of Lading (BOL) used in ground transportation of less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments took effect on August 13, 2016. They affect the Uniform Bill of Lading, the Straight Bill of Lading, and the Straight BOL-Short Form. US shippers and carriers should review the updated requirements, which are found in Supplement 2 of the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) version NMF 100-AP.9/19/2016

USPS Updates Hazmat Packaging Rules in Publication 52
In a notice posted to the Federal Register today, the United States Postal Service announced the addition of a new Excepted Quantity Provision to the hazardous materials packaging provisions found in Publication 52. The updates bring the USPS rules up to date with changes PHMSA made to its Hazardous Materials Regulation (HMR) back in 2009.7/19/2016
